ABOUT ALIMILLERRD.COM

When I started Naturally Nourished, my Houston-based functional nutrition practice in 2011, I never expected it to expand at the rate it did. Within the first two years, I had thousands of clients and multiple practitioners on staff. I quickly learned that there is a great need for functional nutrition and food-as-medicine information, resources, and interventions. As the real food community grew and people were becoming aware of things like gluten intolerance, leaky gut, autoimmune protocols, and adrenal fatigue I knew that many were looking but being underserved with generalized starting points and fad diets lacking a customized approach from a functional medicine practitioner. Also, I have gathered all of the most successful supplements used in over a decade of successful clinical practice in my shop to provide tools to reset your adrenals, reduce stress influence on your body, reset your gut microbiome, reduce inflammation, repair your leaky gut….and so much more!

Ali Miller RD is a place for my food-as-medicine mission to spread to the masses! I developed this site as a place for me to disseminate cutting-edge information via my podcast, blog, and treatment tabs, as well as a platform to provide the opportunity for virtual consultations from wherever you are, and share delicious recipes that heal the body and tame cravings! I hope you enjoy the site I have created and take the time to navigate all of the resources I have developed for you to support your journey towards optimized wellness.

Wishes of Wellness,

THE TEAM

Becki Yoo, MS, RD, LD

Becki Yoo is a Registered Dietitian and Media/Brand Director for Naturally Nourished and AliMillerRD.com. Becki received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Smith College in Spanish and Women’s Studies before moving to Houston with Teach For America in 2010. After her time in the classroom, Becki began managing local farmers markets and quickly realized that a career in food and nutrition was to be her life’s work. After starting two successful juice bars in the Houston area, Becki opted to go back to school to pursue her RD license and a career in functional medicine. She completed her RD internship at the University of Houston with rotations in the Texas Medical Center with a focus in pediatrics, oncology and neurological conditions. Becki has also had the opportunity to work with medical students and faculty at Baylor College of Medicine for the past five years as a founder and instructor of their Choosing Healthy Eating Fresh (CHEF) Elective. Becki has worked for Naturally Nourished since 2015 as a Food Therapist, working directly with patients with food intolerances to navigate their individualized eating plan, focusing on abundance rather than restriction as well as taking an assistant role to Ali in food as medicine cooking classes and workshops. She has also created recipes and photo content for this blog and cookbook, Naturally Nourished: Food As Medicine for Optimal Health and is passionate about spreading food as medicine through cooking, sharing and eating delicious food! Becki has recently completed her Masters in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and is committed to expanding her knowledge of functional medicine interventions to best meet her clients’ diverse needs. “I am beyond thrilled for the opportunity to pursue my passion in food as medicine and functional medicine through my work with Ali as my mentor and teacher. I love the challenge and the puzzle that is functional medicine—figuring out where the body went off track and using food based compounds and lifestyle modifications to get clients back to feeling their best.”

Brady Miller

Brady has been the backbone of Naturally Nourished and Ali Miller RD since conception supporting Ali in every decision and struggle. With prior work on a 300-acre organic farm in Washington while Ali was attending the naturopathic college, Bastyr University to working as a wireman in Houston while Ali was in her dietetic internship, Brady has always found ways to support his family and their vision of providing wellness services. From 2010-2014 he worked as vice president of a solar company in Houston and as Ali’s business expanded he shifted to support the growth in Naturally Nourished. In 2015 he joined the team full-time and balances administrative tasks, finances, business organization, order fulfillment, shipping, and anything else that Ali is overwhelmed with! “I look forward to helping you understand and access our food-as-medicine services. It takes a lot of consideration and thought when investing in yourself and your health, I am here to support your wellness journey and your work with our dietitians. Let’s make sure the process is smooth and that you have some fun along the way!”

WHAT WE OFFER

Mission

I am passionate about food-as-medicine and the real food movement. Everything you eat provides a signal to your body leading to optimal functionality or disease.

I feel strongly about motivating others to select real foods that have been grown sustainably, locally, and seasonally to provide a fuel source that nourishes and heals. Supporting heirloom varieties of plants and animals as well as wild-caught proteins or forged vegetation provides a diverse web of nutritional compounds that are rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. This site allows a platform to connect you beyond my medical practice, Naturally Nourished. I hope you enjoy exploring my TV segments, virtual classes, DVDs, food-as-medicine meal plans, personal blog, and featured recipes using them as tools to fuel and support your food-as-medicine journey to optimal health!

I focus on nourishing my body with whole, non-processed, traditional foods—single ingredient items that are locally and sustainably grown, and pasture-raised or wild caught proteins that are free of hormones and antibiotics. Everything you eat acts as a signal to your body, leading to either optimal functioning with food-as-medicine, or disease.
